This week in all Art classes, we talked about being thankful! We created beautiful cards for all of the teachers, staff and employees at SVDP! Heartfelt messages and pictures were added to make these extra special. Be sure to check them out on the bulletin boards just outside of the Art Room!!
This week we created some bird treats for our feathered friends. We added ingredients to a big bowl, stirred with a wooden spoon and patted the mixture into cookie cutters! I am so proud of all of the kids for waiting patiently for their turn (which can be not so easy to do!!). In Art class, we made some beautiful mixed media collages. Our squirrel nests were made from paper plates, shredded paper, yarn, rope, silk leaves and REAL acorns! These are amazing looking. Check them out on display outside of our classroom...
I am so proud of my students!! On Tuesday, I was away from school and there was a substitute teacher! I received a great report from her...she told me how much fun she had with them, how well they listened and how they did their schoolwork so perfectly! Nice work kiddos!! I missed you.... On Thursday, all was back to our regular schedule...We spent time in Miss Boland and Sr. Krystyna's room for "recess" since it was raining. It was fun playing with our fellow preschoolers!!
Tuesday - This week in Art class we learned about insects (I for insect!!) and created our own collage using three different shapes for its body, 6 black strips of paper for legs, pipe cleaners for antennae and waxed paper for wings!! Details were drawn using construction paper crayons...These are so adorable!! In our classroom, we observed a table full of bugs (plastic and rubber!!) and sorted them - insects on one side and arachnids on the other. Thursday - The highlight of our day was our Halloween party!! Be sure to check out photos of our class having tons of fun playing games and eating yummy treats. We also made a black cat paper bag puppet with Mrs. Morelli. Ms. Joyce read us Halloween books in library and Sr. Krystyna talked to us about saints and gave us a fun worksheet to do...all in all, it was a great week in the Pre K room :)
All of my classes worked on their class Halloween posters this week in the Art Room. We'll finish these just in time for display during our Annual Halloween Parade on Friday October 30th...Enjoy!
Here's what's happening in the Art Room for the week... K/1 - We started a watercolor assignment depicting "germs". Students chatted first about... (cont'd)
