Pre Kindergarten Overview

The St. Vincent de Paul Pre Kindergarten is an exciting, loving, happy environment for preschoolers.

The Pre Kindergarten is a bright, spacious, and beautifully decorated room.  The room is equipped with it's own restroom facilities and sinks for the children's use.  Students are dropped off and picked up at the Pre K room's entrance.

The Pre Kindergarten at St. Vincent de Paul provides an excellent foundation for learning.  The main objective of the program is to involve the children in a broad range of social, intellectual, artistic and physical experiences.  This enables the children to interact with peers and adults during play as well as teacher-directed educational activities.

The dedicated staff comprised of a full time teacher and aid, have many years of preschool experience.  They are central to the nurturing and supportive environment in the classroom.

The curriculum is organized around themes throughout the year. The daily and weekly schedules include center time, reading and math readiness, science, social studies, story time, cooking, and other activities such as field trips and special in class visitors.  During the school year, the Pre K makes cards and crafts for needy members of the community.  These service projects teach the students about giving back to the community.

Although separate from the rest of the school, Pre K students do participate in a variety of schoolwide functions such as the Christmas Pageant, Olympic Day and Pre Kindergarten Graduation.

Children complete the program well prepared for Kindergarten.
