Mission Statement

St. Vincent de Paul School offers a Catholic School education that is committed to developing the potential of each individual student spiritually, academically, physically, and socially … within a positive atmosphere of challenge, Christian Love, and a sense of family. This holistic education is aimed at endowing each student with faith in God and faith in oneself.

St. Vincent de Paul School was built around the values that are the foundation of Catholic Education: Faith in Christ, service to others and a commitment to excellence.

The goal of the school is to provide an excellent academic education in an environment of Catholic faith and moral values. The school develops the children’s intellectual, social, physical, emotional, and religious growth. Graduates of St. Vincent de Paul School are well equipped to meet the challenges of further education with an understanding of what it means to be a Catholic in service to others.

Discipline with Purpose

The main purpose of education is to assist the child to learn self-discipline.  In 2005, St. Vincent de Paul School implemented a comprehensive program to help students do just that.

Discipline with Purpose (DWP) takes a holistic yet concrete approach to discipline that involves the student, teacher and family. This program is designed to find a way to teach responsibility and respect in language children can understand. The school communicates clear expectations for student behavior and will enforce a discipline code that is conducive to learning. All teachers have been trained in DWP and receive continuing education to maintain their effectiveness.

DWP is based on 15 life skills that are taught and reinforced beginning in Kindergarten. As students move through the grade levels they are encouraged to use these skills to solve interpersonal conflicts and conduct themselves properly in the school environment. The life skills include:
