"The Place to be Heard...."

St. Vincent de Paul encourages student involvement to help in spiritual, social, academic and athletic growth.  We have a wide variety of clubs and activities which all students are invited and encouraged to participate in beyond the classroom.

St. Vincent offers academic teams, service organizations, dramatic and musical productions, literary publications, liturgy committees, student government and more.  New clubs and activities are added and reviewed each year according to student interest.  Through these clubs and activities, the students develop a sense of cooperation, understanding, responsibility and teamwork but more importantly gain valuable and lasting friendships.

Musical Instruction:

The Future Musicians group is taught by Mr. Paul Haase.  Students meet weekly for musical instrument instruction.  Students perform together as a band with several other parochial schools at Christmas and in June.

Scouts:

Girl Scouts

St. Vincent de Paul hosts several Girl Scout troops from grades Kindergarten through Grade 8.  The girls work on various projects within their troop.

The younger Scouts, known as Daisies and Brownies, earn rewards learning to care for themselves, their family and the world around them.  The annual spring camping trip is always a highlight.

The older Scouts have been successful in earning both the bronze and the silver awards.  These are among the highest awards in Girl Scouting and require many hours of community service.

Cub Scouts

St. Vincent de Paul hosts Cub Scout Pack # 59.  Boys in grades 1 – 5 may join a Den.  Activities include sports, camping, crafts and popcorn selling.  The highlight of the year is the Pinewood Derby in January when Scouts compete in the fast-paced race with cars they built.

In grades 6 – 8, the Cubs become Boy Scouts and work on a variety of service projects as well as camping and taking adventurous trips.

LEGO Robotics

The LEGO Robotics club is an opportunity for students in grades 5 – 8 to work as a team to design robotic vehicles.  This creative group meets weekly after school.  Robotic competitions with other area schools provide students with the opportunity to participate in science and technology.
