The St. Vincent de Paul Girls Varsity Basketball team won the Viking Classic Basketball Tournament at Union Catholic High School on November 15^th edging out St. Joseph’s of East Orange 31 -26 in an exciting Championship game. The team made it to the championship game by defeating St. Matthew’s and St. Thomas Aquinas earlier in the week.  8^th grader Emily Garno was named MVP for her consistently outstanding level of play.   This is a great beginning to the new Basketball season as it marks the 4^th and final year these girls will be playing together as a team.  The team holds an amazing 64 – 1 record, having not lost a single game since 5^th grade.  St. Vincent de Paul School is a member of the Morris County Catholic Basketball League and plays against other area Catholic schools.
